from Texas, on World Beatnik Records, winners of numerous
Reggae and World Music Awards and 2007 Dallas Music Award
for Best Reggae Artist as well.

A seed from Jamaica, sewn by the great Peter Tosh,
was planted in Dallas in 1976, raised in Jamaica in 1981 and
became WATUSI in 1982 and has grown and spread this band and
their unique blend of roots and dancehall Reggae and Worldbeat
music across America, from the Caribbean to Hawaii,
Afrika, Asia, Europe and around the world!

Charter members of Reggae Ambassadors Worldwide (R.A.W.) and
one of the premier and most established REGGAE bands in America,
one of the original pioneers of "worldbeat" , Watusi is a tribe of
world musicians, coming from the Caribbean, U.S.A. and
Africa, joining kulcha, life and music together in a true
Rasta spirit of international unity, with a"One World, One Love" message and rhythm.

2008 celebrates 25 years of WATUSI and the release of their
latest CD, "Cool Runner", on World Beatnik Records, has taken
the band and their music worldwide. The CD is the 5th release
by WATUSI and shows great, versatile musicianship and a true
diversity of styles:
REGGAE - Roots to dancehall, soca, zouk, Afrikan JuJu, Highlife,
soukous, Afro-beat, salsa, samba, meringue, jazz, funk,
gospel & Jawaiian, all mixed inna true
World Beatnik stylee and riddim, with a "One Love" vibe.

WATUSI's "Cool Runner" cd has gained airplay
worldwide in over 100 countries so far.

positive! After touring with the Bob Marley Festival Tour
& other top Reggae and world music festivals,
WATUSI made a special
